Flash – Applications for iPhone

At Adobe Max, Adobe announced that full fat flash will be on all smart phone platforms by the end of the year, with the release of flash player 10.1, this was with the exception of the iPhone. This news broke my heart as the iPhone is such an awesome platform and a huge amount of Flash Developers want to get going with it. However then along comes the funny title of “Applications for iPhone”. In a similar way to Unity converts to xcode, developers will be able to create Flash applicationswith full multi-touch and accelerometer support straight from Flash CS5 and best of all on both Mac and Windows! Now the iPhone still won’t be capable of running Flash therefore your apps cant run in Safari, CS5 will convert your application to a native iPhone application. This will be limited to AS3 so developers still migrating to AS3 will need to hurry to be ready on the release of CS5. The fully functioning beta should be released prior to the new year. Flash is dead, long live Flash!
