Best example of Augmented Reality EVER!
John Mayer is a musical artist, which I’m sure you yankees have heard of, but for the rest of us he’s a pop-rock Connecticut born artist with a good few bright ideas. His latest and greatest music video is featured in Augmented Reality, and is deployed brilliantly with a high frame rate which give it a huge impact even to us developers who have seen AR in many enviroments and examples. It runs in the Flash Player and uses Papervision for it’s 3D support. So how have they achieved such advanced models with such high frame rate? Well firstly a lot of the effects are within the graphics themselves which means a low poly count, but the real work is in the engine. You will notice when using it that model will ease & tween to the updated position this makes it look smoother and reduced imperfections, but what this also allows them to do is to reduce the frame rate of the camera reducing the CPU load. With the combination of the low camera frame rate and the easing you have a smooth high frame rate application that is fairly responsive.
Bravo Guys!
